We're reviving a Vashon Heritage Farm, that's been in the Dolstad family since 1908! We're blessed with an orchard of 100 year old apple trees, which we're bringing back to health in exchange for hundreds of gallons of cider. We also have a wide variety of younger fruit trees, including pear, plum, cherry and peach, as well as berries: raspberries, blueberries, and of course, blackberries. We're slowly but surely adding all kinds of veggies to our small market garden, and have just opened a farm stand at the end of our driveway, to serve our neighborhood during this Spring of Corona Virus.
We're new to market farming...our first year... We've grown food for farm events over the last 15 years, and hosted a young market gardener for three years, and a community co-op garden last year. Growing food and sharing it is our passion. As well as learning and sharing what we know with other farmers. We are 100% organic, and learning more and more how to take care of the soil, the plants and all the life of the farm. Corona Virus has pulled us into market gardening, as we put a table at the end of our driveway in March and piled it on with extra food we'd grown, to be part of Vashon's food security during Corona. That little spark is now growing to include Vashon Fresh, and we hope some day, our Farmer's Market. We've loved feeding our Colvos neighbors, and look forward to sharing our bounty with you.
